Twelve-Colour LUCIA PRO II Ink System
The Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-510 utilises a 12-colour pigment ink set comprising Matte Black, Photo Black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Photo Cyan, Photo Magenta, Grey, Photo Grey, Red, Blue, and Chroma Optimizer. Operating with 18,432 nozzles and delivering a maximum resolution of 2,400 x 1,200 dpi, the print architecture produces precise tonal transitions, expanded colour gamut, and dense dark tones. Each pigment ink is supplied in an independent 80 ml tank to support extended print runs.
Wide-Format and Custom Media Handling
The printer accommodates paper formats ranging from 4 x 6 inches up to A2, including 17 x 22 inches, 17 x 25 inches, and custom lengths up to 3,276.7 mm. The top tray holds up to 150 sheets of plain paper or 20 sheets of A2 media, while a dedicated manual feed slot accepts single sheets of specialist and thick photographic media. Print speeds achieve approximately 2 minutes 25 seconds for an A3+ photo, and 3 minutes 40 seconds to 6 minutes for standard A2 photographic prints.
Connectivity and Workflow Management
Network integration is supported via Gigabit Ethernet (1000BASE-T), 2.4 GHz wireless LAN, and direct wireless connections without an external router. Mobile and cloud protocols include Apple AirPrint, Mopria Print Service, Canon Print Service, and Cloud Integration Service. The top panel features a 3.0-inch colour LCD screen alongside interior chassis lighting and an inspection window, allowing operators to verify media positioning and print progress during production.
Hardware Specifications and Maintenance
Constructed with a factory footprint measuring approximately 723 x 435 x 285 mm and weighing approximately 32.4 kg, the unit operates at a measured acoustic noise level of 43.0 dB(A). Routine servicing is handled via the MC-20 maintenance cartridge, which can be replaced by the operator without service engineer intervention. Typical power consumption is rated at approximately 38 W during operation and 1.2 W in standby sleep mode.
