Media Handling and Integrated Finishing
The HP DesignJet Z9+dr accommodates two automatic roll feeds with smart roll-switching, alongside a top sheet feed and a media output bin. An integrated vertical trimmer and automatic horizontal cutter cut all HP Z-series printer-qualified media, including most canvas. Supported media types include photographic, fine art printing material, self-adhesive, banner and sign, bond and coated, and backlit media, with recommended media weights from 80 to 500 g/m².
Ink System and Calibration Hardware
Printing relies on 9 pigment-based ink cartridges: cyan, magenta, yellow, matte black, photo black, chromatic red, chromatic green, chromatic blue, and gray, alongside an optional gloss enhancer. Five universal printheads supply ink through 2112 nozzles per colour, providing 21,120 nozzles in total. An i1 spectrophotometer from X-Rite is embedded in the printer.
Processing, Connectivity, and Software
The printer includes 128 GB of virtual memory. Network connectivity is provided by Gigabit Ethernet (1000Base-T) supporting 802.3, 802.3u, and 802.3ab standards, and a Hi-Speed USB 2.0 certified interface supports direct printing from USB flash drives. Included software features HP Click printing software, HP Web Jetadmin, HP DesignJet Utility with HP Colour Center, and HP Partner Link, with optional HP Security Manager and HP SmartStream. The HP Click App is compatible with Windows and Mac, the HP Click Driver is compatible with Windows 11 only, and HP Click Print solutions work with PDF, JPEG, TIFF, DWF, and HP-GL/2 files using Original HP Ink supplies.
