Core Printing and Copying Capabilities
The Canon PIXMA MG2570S delivers monochrome print speeds of up to 8.0 ipm and colour print speeds of up to 4.0 ipm, supporting resolutions up to 4,800 x 600 dpi. Its integrated copier produces colour copies with an sFCOT simplex speed of 31 seconds or an sESAT simplex speed of 1.6 ipm, allowing up to 21 pages per copy run.
Document Scanning and Paper Handling
Equipped with a Contact Image Sensor (CIS) flatbed platen, the unit scans documents up to A4 or Letter size (216 x 297 mm) at an optical resolution of 600 x 1,200 dpi. The rear tray accommodates up to 60 sheets of 64 g/m² plain paper and accepts various formats including A4, A5, B5, Letter, Legal, envelopes, and 4 x 6-inch and 5 x 7-inch sizes. Plain paper weights from 64 to 105 g/m² are supported.
Cartridge Options and Workload Suitability
Standard ink configurations utilise PG-745S pigment black and CL-746S dye-based colour cartridges, with optional standard PG-745 and CL-746 or PG-745XL and CL-746XL cartridges available. With a recommended monthly print volume of 10 to 80 pages, this device supports steady, low-demand desktop workflows.
Power Management and Physical Footprint
Directly connecting via USB 2.0, the unit incorporates an Auto Power ON function that senses incoming print jobs and powers the device on, alongside an Auto Power OFF function that shuts it down after an idle interval. The casing measures 426 x 306 x 145 mm, weighs 3.5 kg, and consumes approximately 9 W during operation, 1 W in standby, and 0.4 W when turned off.
