Scanning Performance and Duty Cycle
The HP ScanJet Pro 3000 s4 Sheet-feed Scanner operates as a dedicated sheetfed scanning device with single-pass duplex capability. It captures both sides of a page in a single pass at speeds of up to 40 ppm/80 ipm through the automatic document feeder. With an optical resolution of up to 600 dpi and a recommended daily duty cycle of 4000 pages.
Media Handling and Capacity
The built-in automatic document feeder accommodates a standard capacity of 50 sheets. Document sizes range from a minimum of 50.8 x 50.8 mm up to a maximum of 216 x 3100 mm. Supported media types include cut sheet paper, printed paper (laser and ink), pre-punched paper, bank checks, business cards, freight bills, carbonless forms, plastic carrier sheets for easily damaged documents, previously stapled media with staple removed, and plastic cards up to 1.24mm. Multifeed detection is included.
Imaging Technology and Processing
Scanning relies on a CMOS CIS (Contact Image Sensor) mechanism with a bit depth of 24-bit external and 48-bit internal. The system includes built-in optical character recognition (OCR) capabilities and PDF security.
