Print and Copy Throughput
The Brother MFC-L8340CDW produces colour and monochrome prints at speeds up to 30 pages per minute on A4 paper and up to 31 pages per minute on Letter paper, with a 600 x 600 dpi print resolution. An internal LED print engine handles document output with smooth tone transitions and sharp line clarity. Copying runs at matching rates up to 30 copies per minute, supported by 25 to 400 per cent enlargement or reduction settings and multi-page N-in-1 layout modes.
Paper Handling and Document Feeding
A 250-sheet lower paper cassette supports plain paper between 60 and 163 gsm, supplemented by a 30-sheet multi-purpose tray for envelopes, alternate media, and specialised sheet sizes up to 280 sheets total capacity. The 50-sheet automatic document feeder allows multi-page documents to be copied, scanned, or faxed without manual feeding. Automatic duplex printing is standard on A4 media, reducing paper consumption across routine business reports.
Digitisation and Transmission
Scanning capabilities include optical capture up to 1,200 x 1,200 dpi from the flatbed glass and 600 x 600 dpi through the document feeder, reaching scan speeds up to 27 images per minute in mono and 21 images per minute in colour on A4 sheets. The integrated 33.6 kbps Super G3 fax system stores up to 500 pages in memory during paper outages and supports computer-based mono faxing.
Connectivity and Management
System navigation operates via an 8.76 cm colour touchscreen, backed by 512 MB of onboard processing memory. Connection interfaces include dual-band Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, and local Hi-Speed USB 2.0, secured by WPA3-SAE and WPA2 enterprise encryption standards. Users can submit print jobs and retrieve digital scans through mobile devices using the Brother Mobile Connect application.
