The Canon MAXIFY GX5170 delivers first-print-out times of approximately 5.5 seconds for monochrome and 7.0 seconds for colour, reaching simplex speeds of 24.0 ipm in mono and 15.5 ipm in colour. Its four GI-76 pigment inks resist water, markers and smudging on plain paper documents. Standard bottle yields provide up to 6,000 black pages and 14,000 colour pages, extending to 9,000 black pages and 21,000 colour pages in Economy Mode.
Flexible media handling and automatic two-sided printing
A total input capacity of 350 sheets is divided between a 250-sheet front cassette and a 100-sheet rear tray. Built-in automatic duplex printing supports plain A4 and Letter sheets at speeds up to 13.0 ipm in mono and 10.0 ipm in colour. The rear tray accepts varied paper sizes, including envelopes, executive sheets, and custom banner lengths up to 1,200 mm.
Secure network connectivity and mobile printing
The printer integrates into commercial IT environments through wired 100BASE-TX Ethernet, 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, and Wireless Direct. Administrative control features include operation restrictions, setting restrictions, TLS 1.3, IEEE 802.1X, and WPA3-Enterprise wireless security. Mobile workflow support encompasses Apple AirPrint, Mopria Print Service, Canon Print Service for Android, and Cloud Integration Service.
Simplified maintenance and operating efficiency
A two-line LCD screen provides straightforward device status and setup control. Routine maintenance is handled with a user-replaceable MC-G01 maintenance cartridge. The unit supports monthly duty cycles of up to 45,000 pages and operates at approximately 19 W during active printing.
