Print Performance and Volume
The Canon MAXIFY MB5170 delivers document prints at speeds of up to 24 ipm in monochrome and 15.5 ipm in colour, with ready first-page output times of 6 seconds in mono and 7 seconds in colour. Designed for structured business output, the machine supports a recommended monthly volume of 150 to 1,500 pages and an overall duty cycle reaching 30,000 pages per month.
Document Handling and Scanning
A front-loading 250-sheet paper cassette manages day-to-day office media, complemented by a 50-sheet automatic document feeder for multi-page processing. With built-in dual Contact Image Sensors, the feeder completes single-pass two-sided scanning at optical resolutions up to 1,200 x 1,200 dpi. Automatic double-sided printing comes standard on A4 and Letter plain paper.
PGI-2700 Pigment Inks
Utilising a four-colour individual pigment ink system, documents produced remain resistant to water smudges and highlighter markers. Standard-yield PGI-2700 tanks provide approximately 1,000 monochrome and 700 colour pages, whilst optional PGI-2700XL cartridges extend yields to 2,500 black and 1,500 colour pages.
Network Integration and Control
Network connectivity is provided via 100BASE-TX wired Ethernet and 2.4 GHz IEEE 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, alongside Wireless Direct. Users can print through Apple AirPrint, Mopria Print Service, Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY, and MAXIFY Cloud Link. Machine settings and standalone tasks are directed via the 3.5-inch colour touchscreen.
