Media handling and paper paths
The HP DesignJet T870 24-in Printer incorporates roll feed, an automatic sheet feeder with 50 sheet capacity, a media bin, and an automatic horizontal cutter. Media handling supports cut sheets in A4 and A3 through the automatic feeder, and A4, A3, A2, and A1 via manual feed. Custom dimensions range from 210 x 279 to 305 x 457 mm on the sheet feeder, and 210 x 279 to 609 x 1676 mm on manual feed.
Thermal inkjet printing system
Delivering up to 2400 x 1200 optimized dpi, the device runs on HP Thermal Inkjet technology. The print architecture employs a single printhead with 1376 nozzles per colour, totalling 5504 nozzles across four pigment-based cartridges in cyan, magenta, yellow, and matte black. The system uses HP Flex Tech Inks, and maintenance routines use up to 95% less ink during printhead cleaning.
