Printhead and Ink System
The HP DesignJet Z9+ Pro 64-in Printer uses HP Thermal Inkjet technology with pigment-based inks. The system uses 5 universal, user-replaceable HP HDNA printheads that operate across all colours. Ink drop weights are 7/3 pl dual-drop weight for magenta, cyan, photo black, chromatic blue, and gray, alongside 6 pl single-drop weight for yellow, chromatic red, matte black, and chromatic green, supplied from recyclable 1 liter HP Eco-Carton ink cartridges.
Colour Management and Software
An embedded spectrophotometer generates custom ICC profiles directly on the device. HP Print Beat provides data for tracking print performance, and media presets can be shared remotely. In addition, the HP PrintOS mobile application delivers notifications regarding supplies, system status, and connectivity.
Media Handling and Processing
The printer accommodates metric roll media from 420 to 1626-mm in width, with media thickness up to 0.6 mm and a roll weight limit of 25 kg. Processing hardware comprises 500 GB of self-encrypting storage and 86 GB file processing memory based on 4 GB RAM. Supported print languages comprise TIFF, JPEG, CALS G4, HP-GL/2, and HP-RTL, with a line accuracy of ±0.1%.
