The paper cassette holds up to 250 sheets of 80 g/m² plain paper, while the top output tray accommodates up to 100 sheets of 75 g/m² paper.

Network integration is supported through 10Base-T/100Base-TX Ethernet and IEEE 802.11b/g/n wireless connectivity, including Access Point Mode and WPS, alongside standard USB 2.0. Users can submit print jobs from mobile devices using Canon PRINT, Canon Print Service for Android, Apple AirPrint, Mopria Print Service, or Microsoft Universal Print. A 5-line LCD panel on the unit assists with status monitoring and settings navigation, supported by 256 MB of internal memory and UFR II and PCL6 print languages.

The machine uses Canon Cartridge 072 yielding 1,400 pages, with an initial starter cartridge yielding 1,000 pages bundled in the box. For higher print demands, the optional high-yield Cartridge 072H provides an estimated yield of 4,100 pages.
