Resolution for documents and photos
A Contact Image Sensor scans at up to 2400 x 2400 dpi optical resolution, with software-driven resolutions up to 19200 dpi available through Canon’s ScanGear interface for enlarging small originals such as negatives or ID cards. Colour scans capture 48-bit input, giving the software room to correct exposure and colour before it is reduced to a final 24-bit image.
Runs on USB power alone
The LiDE 300 connects over a USB 2.0 High-Speed Mini-B cable that supplies both data and power, drawing approximately 4.5 W while scanning and around 0.3 W on standby, so it works without a separate mains adapter — useful on a desk that is already short of sockets.
Z-lid for bound and bulky originals
The Advanced Z-lid design lifts up to 21 mm, letting the lid sit over a thick original such as a stitched book or a stapled report without having to press it flat against the glass. A 300 dpi colour scan of a full A4 page takes around 10 seconds, or about 5 seconds for a 4×6 inch photo.
Four EZ Buttons and Send to Cloud
PDF, Auto Scan, Copy and Send buttons on the scanner body start common jobs without opening scanning software first, and the Send to Cloud feature can upload a scan straight to services such as Microsoft OneDrive or Dropbox.
Desk footprint
At approximately 250 x 367 x 42 mm and 1.7 kg, the flatbed sits flush on a desk and does not need extra clearance behind or beside it, since the lid opens upward rather than sliding back.
