Imaging Drum Assembly Overview
The Brother DR-451CL is an original colour drum unit engineered specifically for selected Brother laser printers and multifunction machines. In laser printing architecture, the drum unit functions separately from the toner cartridges. While toner cartridges hold the toner powder, the drum unit transfers the image onto the paper. This dedicated assembly accommodates four individual toner bays corresponding to black, cyan, magenta, and yellow.
Rated Page Life and Duty Testing
According to official manufacturer specifications, the DR-451CL has an approximate lifespan of 30,000 pages. This durability rating is calculated based on Brother test standards of one page per print job. Operating the unit with varying job lengths, media weights, and printing intervals will influence the actual total page count achieved before replacement becomes necessary.
Supported Hardware Models
Brother Malaysia lists four compatible colour laser office machines for this drum unit: the HL-L8260CDN, HL-L8360CDW, MFC-L8690CDW, and MFC-L8900CDW. Equipping these supported devices with the genuine DR-451CL ensures exact mechanical alignment and correct electrical contact across all four internal toner slots.
Supply Configuration and Packaging
The package contains one drum unit assembly with pre-moulded bays for cyan, magenta, yellow, and black cartridges. Toner cartridges are not included in the box and must be purchased separately. Because Brother colour laser devices utilise separate toner and drum mechanisms, toner cartridges can be replaced multiple times before this main drum unit reaches its 30,000-page service limit.
Purchasing and Item Verification
For administrative inventory records, local corporate buyers can identify this item by its Brother part number DR-451CL or the official order code 84GD8100140. Verifying these manufacturer codes against internal maintenance schedules assists office administrators in ordering the exact component specified for company printing equipment.
