Wide-Format Document and Drawing Output
The Canon PIXMA iX6870 prints wide-format office documents, technical CAD drawings, and spreadsheets up to A3+ size. Borderless printing is supported on standard formats including A3, A4, and photo media up to 10 x 12 inches. A maximum resolution of 9,600 by 2,400 dpi maintains fine line clarity on technical plots and sharp text across spreadsheets.
Five-Cartridge Ink System
The printer uses an individual ink tank system comprising a pigment black cartridge for documents alongside dye-based black, cyan, magenta, and yellow cartridges. Standard PGI-750 and CLI-751 cartridges can be replaced individually as colours deplete. An optional PGI-755XXL black cartridge is available, yielding approximately 2.6 times more prints than the standard cartridge to reduce replacement frequency for busy desks.
Workgroup Connectivity and Energy Management
Equipped with built-in Wi-Fi and wired Ethernet, the unit integrates into local office networks for shared workgroup access. Mobile printing protocols include Canon PRINT and Apple AirPrint for direct jobs from compatible devices. An Auto Power ON and OFF function switches the machine on automatically upon receiving a print command over a USB connection and powers down after an idle duration.
Media Handling and Desktop Footprint
The rear feeder accommodates up to 150 sheets of standard 64 g/m² plain paper as well as heavier specialty media up to 300 g/m². Measuring 584 mm wide, 310 mm deep, and 159 mm high, the unit weighs 8.1 kg and operates at an acoustic noise level of approximately 44.0 dB(A).
