Pigment Ink System and Print Resolution
The printer operates with a 10-colour PFI-5100 pigment ink set that incorporates dedicated Photo Black and Matte Black formulations alongside a Chroma Optimizer. Across 7,680 nozzles, the system delivers output resolutions up to 4,800 by 2,400 dpi for photographic media and fine art papers.
Media Feeding and Paper Handling
Paper handling includes a top tray holding up to 100 sheets of plain A4 paper or 50 sheets of plain A3 paper, complemented by a single-sheet manual rear feed for specialised stocks. An integrated automatic skew correction mechanism aligns loaded media, while a dedicated multi-purpose tray enables direct printing onto compatible discs. Supported sheet sizes range from 4 x 6 inch prints up to A3+ sheets, 210 by 594 mm panorama formats, and custom lengths reaching 1,800 mm.
Connectivity and Hardware Controls
Network integration is provided through 100BASE-TX Ethernet, 2.4 GHz wireless LAN, and direct wireless connections, alongside a standard USB 2.0 interface. Mobile printing tasks are supported via AirPrint, Mopria Print Service, and Canon Print Service for Android. Device configuration and consumable levels are managed directly via an integrated 3.0-inch colour LCD panel.
