Print and copy performance
The HP Smart Tank 580 All-in-One Printer provides print, scan, and copy functions, with print speeds up to 12 ipm for black, 5 ipm for color, and up to 22 ipm for draft black on A4 paper. Black print quality reaches up to 1200 x 1200 rendered dpi, while color printing reaches up to 4800 x 1200 optimized dpi color when printing from a computer with 1200 input dpi. The unit produces up to 99 copies and features Enhanced ID Copy to detect and copy IDs onto one page.
Media handling and scanning
The printer includes a 100-sheet input tray and a 30-sheet output tray, with manual duplex printing supported through driver software. Supported media sizes include A4, B5, A6, legal, and DL envelope, with media weights from 60 to 90 g/m² for plain paper, 75 to 90 g/m² for envelopes, up to 200 g/m² for cards, and up to 300 g/m² for photo paper. Scanning reaches an optical resolution of up to 1200 dpi with a maximum scan size of 216 x 297 mm.

Device operation, supplies, and warranty
Integrated ink sensors monitor ink levels, while HP Auto-On/Auto-Off technology manages power across manual-off (0.109 watts), ready (3.023 watts), and sleep (1.096 watt) states. The device features 64 MB Integrated DDR1 memory and uses Asia Pacific replacement ink bottles HP GT53, HP GT53XL, and HP GT52 Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow. A 2 years warranty is provided with on-site one to one exchange.
