Projection and installation
The Panasonic PT-REQ80 is a black 1-Chip DLP projector with a laser diode light source. It has a native 1920 x 1200 panel. Quad Pixel Drive supports 4K projection when enabled. Installation options include ceiling or floor placement, front or rear projection, and free 360-degree installation.
Lens and display connections
The supplied lens has powered zoom and powered focus. Its throw ratio is 1.36–2.10:1, and the listed screen size range is 70–700 inches. The projector has HDMI x 2 inputs and DisplayPort x 1, with 4K/60p signal input listed for both connection types.
Control and adjustment functions
Gradation Smoother reduces banding in shaded colour gradients and can be adjusted or disabled using the remote. Geo Pro provides geometric adjustment, together with preactivated Geometry Manager Pro and Auto Screen Adjustment upgrade-kit licences. Smart Projector Control is supported for iOS and Android.
Signal backup and custom images
Backup Input Redundancy switches from HDMI 1 to HDMI 2 when the primary signal is interrupted, provided both inputs receive identical signals. The PT-REQ80 supports registering 3x user images in BMP/PNG format for custom test patterns, start-up logos and no-signal screensavers. Start-up logos require Logo Transfer Software.
